Red Hot and Boom Fireworks Description

If you are looking to celebrate the fourth of July in Orlando on July 3rd, the city of Altamonte Spings throws one of Orlando’s biggest Independence Day bashes along with Top 40 radio station xl106.7 each year called Red, Hot, and Boom. Up and coming national pop bands and artists perform at the amphitheater leading up to the firework show with food vendors setup around the lake at Crane’s Roost Park. The bands and artists performing at the 2012 Red Hot and Boom Show include Cobra Starship, Jo Jo, Karmin, Neon Hitch, Outasight, A Rocket To the Moon, and Chris Rene. Plenty of parking is available for the thousands that attend at the nearby Altamonte Springs mall that is within walking distance to the park. The 25 minute fireworks show is set to patriotic music and begins at 9:30pm.

Downtown Orlando Fireworks Description

Downtown Orlando has one of the most popular 4th of July fireworks shows during the Independence Day holiday with a great setting over Lake Eola. There are a lot of areas to setup a sheet, blanket, or chairs around the lake that features fireworks set to music and a patriotic firework fountain light show beforehand. The Downtown Orlando fireworks show is also shown on the local ABC affiliate WFTV. The fountain show begins at 9:30pm with fireworks starting immediately afterwards.

Sanford Fireworks Description

In the northeast part of Metro Orlando is Orlando’s other large fireworks show in Sanford, Florida. Fireworks are launched over Lake Monroe from the marina in Downtown Sanford as visitors watch the fireworks on land in Fort Mellon Park or by boat. There are several restaurants in walking distance in Downtown Sanford and games and activities leading up to the fireworks show. The fireworks typically begin at 9pm and are choreographed to music. We will update the actual fireworks time information for 2012 when it is officially released.

Celebration Fireworks Description

The city of Celebration, Florida is located in the southern part of Orlando just outside of Disney World and incorporates a flashback theme each year with their fireworks that is coordinated to music. The 2011 theme was a flash back to the 1980′s. The 2012 theme is a flash back in Cinema. The Celebration Fireworks show takes place in the town center over Lake Rianhard. Within the town center are several restaurants and shops. The fireworks are scheduled to begin at 9:30pm. There will also be a parade in Celebration during the morning hours at 9am.

Magic Kingdom Fireworks Description

The Magic Kingdom has a fireworks show that was created in recent years specifically for the 4th of July that can only be seen on July 3rd and July 4th. The Magic Kingdom fireworks show features classic Americana songs that are a part of many other fireworks shows seen around the United States that ends with the Star Spangled Banner National Anthem. Fireworks can be seen throughout the park but the best spot is going to be on Main Street USA with Cinderella Castle in the foreground. The fireworks begin each night at 9pm.

Epcot Fireworks Description

Epcot celebrates the 4th of July with a second grand-finale fireworks tag to their popular Illuminations show that you can see each day at the park. There are no differences between the July 4th Illuminations show with other days as far as the number of pyrotechnics involved but the 4 minutes of fireworks after the main show is just a sky full of combustion’s all happening at once. Epcot’s 4th of July fireworks show has more of a historical feel to it with Glory, Glory, Hallelujah (Lay My Burden Down) choreographed with famous soundbites of US leaders as the fireworks are exploding in the round over the lake that the parks World Showcase is built around. The fireworks begin at 10pm.

Hollywood Studios Fireworks Description

Similar to the Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios has a main street at the entrance of the park that is ideal for watching the 4th of July fireworks with the Sorcerer’s Hat from the classic animation movie Fantasia serving as the backdrop. Whereas the Magic Kingdom and Epcot’s Firework shows are set to a soundtrack, the Hollywood Studio’s 4th of July fireworks show is set to live music that is filled with cover songs of classic rock artists Elvis and Jerry Lee Lewis, 90′s grunge from Nirvana and Pearl Jam, and today’s rock bands like Fall Out Boy. The Hollywood Studios fireworks show has a great party feel to it. The fireworks show begins at 9:45pm.

SeaWorld Fireworks Description

SeaWorld celebrates the 4th of July each year by adding a second fireworks show set to patriotic music after it’s popular Reflections fireworks show that can be seen throughout the Summer on special nights. The fireworks show takes place at the Waterfront section at the center of the park where fountains light up and dance in addition to the fireworks. The Reflections show begins at 9:45pm with the 4th of July fireworks show starting immediately afterwards.

Universal Studios Fireworks Description

Universal Studios has a brand new firework and fountain show for 2012 that celebrates 100 years of Universal Studios movies called Universal’s Cinematic Spectacular (see video above). In the most recent years, Universal Studios has only had fireworks at the Universal Studios theme park (not Citywalk or Islands of Adventure) where they have added a patriotic ending to their existing lagoon style fireworks show. The new Cinematic Spectacular show features fountains, lights, video walls, and fireworks. We will update this article when Universal announces their official plans for the 4th of July in 2012.

Baldwin Park Fireworks Description

Since 2010, the Baldwin Park Rotary club has featured a firework show over Lake Baldwin before the 4th of July to celebrate America’s Independence Day. In previous years, the fireworks took place on July 3rd. The 2012 show will take place on a new day of the year on Sunday, July 1st, 2012 from 6pm until 9:30pm (click here for the official site).

Baldwin Park is a neo-traditional community a few miles east of Downtown Orlando that has a similar look and feel to Celebration, Florida. There are several shops and restaurants to play and dine at and a Publix all within walking distance to pick up some sparklers and watch the fireworks over the lake. This is a great option for the day before the 4th of July that doesn’t see the same type of crowds as some of the other shows.
