2026 Downtown Orlando Fireworks at the Fountain

The 49th annual Fireworks at the Fountain at Lake Eola Park is Downtown Orlando’s signature Independence Day event — and 2026 marks the nation’s 250th anniversary, giving this beloved celebration an added America 250 theme. The event runs Saturday, July 4 from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM, with fireworks launching at 9:10 PM synchronized live with the Orlando Concert Band. Free admission — no ticket required.

Pre-show festivities from 4:00 PM include live music at the Walt Disney Amphitheater stage, a kids’ activity zone, Swan Boats on the lake, and food and beverage vendors throughout the park. The show is also broadcast on the local CBS affiliate WKMG and ClickOrlando.com. Arrive early and use LYMMO (the free downtown circulator) — road closures begin at 2 PM and parking fills fast.

Downtown Orlando’s Lake Eola Park and surrounding neighborhoods are worth spending the full day exploring before the 9:10 PM Fireworks at the Fountain — and the free LYMMO circulator makes it easy to move between neighborhoods without dealing with July 4th parking.

• Lake Eola Park — The event venue is worth visiting well before the festivities start at 4:00 PM. The 0.9-mile walking path around the lake, the iconic Swan Boats, and the Walt Disney Amphitheater make it one of the most pleasant urban parks in Florida for a morning outing. Arriving early also lets you claim a prime spot on the grass near the fountain — the best real estate for the 9:10 PM fireworks synchronized to the live Orlando Concert Band.
• Thornton Park — The walkable neighborhood just east of Lake Eola has some of Downtown Orlando’s best independent restaurants and cafés in a low-key residential setting. Eola Wine Company, The Stubborn Mule, and Soco Restaurant are neighborhood staples for lunch or an early dinner before heading back to the park for the fireworks.
• Orange County Regional History Center — A four-floor museum in a restored 1927 courthouse in the heart of downtown, covering Central Florida history from pre-Columbian times through the space age and theme park era. Air-conditioned and family-friendly — a solid mid-afternoon option when the July heat peaks. Open until 5:00 PM.
• Mills 50 District — About 10 minutes north of Lake Eola, Mills Avenue and 50th Street anchor Orlando’s most diverse dining corridor — Vietnamese, Korean, Thai, Filipino, and Latin restaurants within a few blocks of each other. One of the best lunch destinations in Orlando, and far less crowded than the downtown core on July 4th morning.
• Church Street & Wall Street Plaza — The Church Street entertainment district and Wall Street Plaza bar complex are a short walk from Lake Eola and come alive in the afternoon and evening around July 4th. Good options for drinks and casual dining in the hours between exploring downtown and settling in for the fireworks show.
